Maximum power availability for a converged voice and data network is attainable when a Catalyst 3560 Switch is combined with the Cisco Redundant Power System 675 (RPS 675) for seamless protection against internal power supply failures and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system to safeguard against power outages. The Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series is available in the standard multilayer software image (SMI) or the enhanced multilayer software image (EMI). A computers Artilce for Your Viewing
Overcome Eye Strain Caused by Constant Computer Use

The present age has been called the "computer generation." There have been many advances in technology over the last century that make life easier on everyone.

Our society is dominated by machines, especially computers.

Generally the ill-effects of our lifestyle can be reflected in the condition of our eyes. In this regard, computers have become an indispensable part of our lives, making everything easier and allowing people to work quickly and efficiently. There is, however, a downside to our computer-enhanced society.

This downside to constant computer use can lead to medical problems that can affect you for a long time.

Dr. James E. Sheedy, OD and PhD, explains:

We all know that many computer users have eye-related problems. Studies show that between 25% and 93% of computer users are prone to them. Surveys have also shown about one in six patients in the general optometric practice schedules an examination because of these problems. Although any one of several factors (or a combination of factors) can cause these symptoms, a single term ?Computer Vision Syndrome? (CVS) has been adopted to describe the problems.

Eyestrain

One of the most common health problems you are likely to encounter when using computers frequently is eyestrain. Think about it. Do you spend several hours a day in front of your computer?

You may not realize it, but spending hours in front of your computer screen every day can harm your eyes. Once you put strain on your eye muscles, they begin to show signs of stress. You might experience severe headaches, pain, irritation, a burning sensation in your eyes, and blurred vision.

In this article, our goal is to explore relief and treatment for eye strain. We will suggest ways to avoid problems related to constant computer, CRT, and LCD usage on your eyes.

Realize the Gravity of Eyestrain

Eye strain is caused by a continuous exposure to computer, television, or any other device that changes color, content, and appearance too often or rapidly. Eye strain makes your eyes look tired and worn out.

Furthermore, if you neglect your eyes, they will be strained to such an extent that it could be difficult to reverse the damage. You need to be extra careful if your occupation needs you to spend a lot of time working with computers, CRTs, LCDs, and wielding machines.

Eye strain decreases your concentration and leads to chronic fatigue, preventing you from fulfilling your tasks on time. Further, eye strain has a detrimental effect on the look of your eyes, making them appear dull and lifeless. Gradually, eye strain leads to other eye problems like dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles, crow's feet, and more.

After spending all that time and money on eye makeup, it is disappointing when the eyes in your mirror look dull and tired. You can easily avoid such facial distractions by checking and controlling factors that are likely to cause eye strain.

Seek Remedies and Professional Help

What do you do if you begin experiencing unattractive dark circles around your eyes, or more serious eye problems related to eye strain or fatigue? Don't despair.

Doctors who specialize and treat eye problems should be your first resource for solutions to serious eye problems. Doctors who specialize in both medical as well as surgical care of your visual capacity (including your over all eye health) are called ophthalmologists. They are primarily concerned with diagnosis and treatment of disease. On the other hand, the latter are more interested in analyzing the effects of diseases and the consequences.

Those who are specialists in treating specific kinds of eye diseases like glaucoma, presbyopia, astigmatism, and nearsightedness are called optometrists or doctors of optometry (O.D.).

Opticians custom tailor eye products for you. They also offer valuable vision-related services like providing suitable products like sunglasses, contact lenses, and bifocal lenses, as advised by the ophthalmologist.

In a recent visit to my ophthalmologist, I became aware of a special type of glasses made by a company called Zeiss. I learned that these glasses would reduce stress on my eyes from doing a lot of work in front of my computer screen. Since I spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen, I invested in these glasses. They were a considerable expense because I purchased them in addition to the long distance glasses I usually need because of my near-sightedness. Nevertheless, I feel it is a worthwhile investment.

I was presently surprised with how effective these glasses were in reducing eye strain and headaches I used to experience after looking at the computer screen for too long. Plus, these glasses also help me see smaller fonts on the computer screen. If you suffer from eye strain, you may want to consider investing in some computer protection glasses like the kind created by Zeiss.

I was also told by my ophthalmologist to also do exercises to refocus my eyes. He explained after every 20 minutes on the computer I should get up and walk away from the screen. Then I should look at objects far away in my house or outside my window to refocus my eyes for a few minutes.

In other words, give your eyes a break and refocus your vision. In addition, I try not to always look at the computer screen when I type and blink occasionally. Avoid staring at computer or LCD screens for hours at a time without a break.

You don't have to look tired, worn out, or have dark circles under your eyes. There are promising treatments available from top eTailers like Amazon.com or bodestore.com.

These online stores provide creams on the market that help fight the visible signs of aging such as dark circles. For instance, one such cream is Eyederma(tm). Eyederma(tm) was specifically developed to alleviate the affects of dark circles and is available from both bodestore.com and Amazon.com.

It is crucial to protect your eyes from too much stress from computers and electronic LCD type exposure. Be mindful of these tips as you use computer and other LCD screens. These preventative measures can go a long way to help protect your eyes.

Eye strain not only makes your eyes tired, it takes away from their natural beauty and glow. Tired eyes will reveal your age, and worse, may make you appear older, less vibrant, and perhaps even ill.

However, if you keep them healthy and safeguard them from strain, your eyes will appear more beautiful and vibrant. Good eye care insights from professionals and effective eye treatment creams like Eyederma(tm) will be a powerful combination in maintaining good-looking, healthy eyes.

Computer Business: Provide Services to Other Businesses

To make your computer business more profitable, you need to start providing service to businesses, not consumers. This article will show you why providing service to businesses is more profitable than providing service to consumers in your computer business.
Retail-oriented customers need service once or twice a year and don't need your service on an extended basis, but businesses are a different story. Let's say that your goal is to produce $200,000 a year in pure services revenue for your computer business. Here are two choices you have:
In depth: retail-oriented clients
Choice A is providing business to consumer service (B2C). This person may spend $250 a year in services (or product margin) from your shop. That money may be spent on a hard drive upgrade, a repair, installing Wi-Fi equipment, running a Cat 5 cable in their home office, etc. You'll need a lot of customers at $250 per customer to reach $200,000 a year-800 to be exact.
If you're just selling the products and you don't have a lot of after-sale post-support, that customer volume may seem manageable with just a small staff in your computer business. Keep in mind, though, that these retail customers are going to need a lot of handholding. Plus, what is it going to cost you in terms of advertising, promotional, and marketing dollars to be able to get those 800 customers in your computer business?
Next, look at labor costs. How many technicians and system engineers will your firm need to be able to deliver adequate "free" or "paid" support to those customers? (Also, bear in mind that retail computer store service is generally billed at much lower rates than commercial small business service).
In depth: business clients:
Now, look at choice B; business customers (B2B), who are committing to spending a minimum of about $1,000 a month-every single month. That's a $12,000 a year minimum per customer.
Do the math. You'll see you only need about 16 or 17 of these customers to reach your goal. This is a whole lot more manageable in your computer business, even with one or two system engineers, or with just one or two high-level technical consultants.
At $12,000 per year, these businesses are no longer transaction-oriented, one-shot-deal customers. At $1,000 per month commitment ... that's a real client! Plus, you'll also have a lot less non-billable time. You end up "eating" more hours and more time on the tiny jobs, the $100 and the $200 and the $500 customers, than you will with the ones that have extended maintenance over an extended period of time.
The Bottom Line about Your Computer Business
In this article, you've been introduced to the advantages of providing service to other businesses in your computer business.

Cisco Catalyst 3560-24PS SMI - Switch - 24 ports - EN, Fast EN - 10Base-T, 100Ba

The Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series switches is a line of fixed configuration, enterprise-class, IEEE 802.3af and Cisco prestandard Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches in Fast Ethernet configurations that provide availability, security, and quality of service (QoS) to enhance network operations. The Catalyst 3560 is an ideal access layer switch for small enterprise wiring closets or branch office environments that are using their LAN infrastructure for the deployment of new products and applications such as IP telephones, wireless access points, video surveillance, building management systems, and remote video kiosks. Customers can deploy network-wide intelligent services, such as advanced QoS, rate limiting, access control lists, multicast management, and high-performance IP routing - while maintaining the simplicity of traditional LAN switching. Embedded in the Catalyst 3560 is the Cisco Cluster Management Suite (CMS) Software, which allows users to simultaneously configure and troubleshoot multiple Cisco Catalyst desktop switches using a standard Web browser. Cisco CMS Software provides configuration wizards that greatly simplify the implementation of converged networks and intelligent network services. The Catalyst 3560 Series can provide a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for deployments that incorporate Cisco IP phones and Cisco Aironet wireless LAN access points, as well as any IEEE 802.3af-compliant end device. Power over Ethernet removes the need for wall power to each PoE-enabled device and eliminates the cost for additional electrical cabling that would otherwise be necessary in IP phone and wireless LAN deployments.

Buying a New Computer

Purchasing a home computer can be one of the most nerve-wracking experiences if you don't do your homework first. Since most of us are non-technical, wading through all of the specifications and deciding what is right can be overwhelming.

While price is important, there are many other factors that should be considered when purchasing a computer. Doing research before entering your local office supply or computer store will help you from spending more than you wanted to and also get you the best deal on the quality that you need.

Spend some time thinking about how your computer will be used. Make a list of what needs that this computer will need to fill.

What software is an absolute necessity?

Will you need non-standard hardware like a scanner or fax in addition to your computer?

Are you more interested in word processing or gaming or both?

Thinking about what function your computer serves for all the members of your family will help you narrow down your choices.

After you've determined what function your computer serves in your life and the life of your family you will want to consider the speed of your new computer.

The Central Processing Unit or CPU is the brain of your computer. The CPU is the largest contributor to the overall speed of your computer. It controls all of the functions and capabilities that your computer will have.

The newest computers come with CPUs that range from 1.6 GHz to 3.2 GHz. If you are involved in graphics or want to play high-resolution computer games, you need the highest GHz that you can afford.

Another consideration is the memory or virtual storage space of your new computer. While computers are available with 128 MB of memory, you'll want to have at least 256 MB on your machine. Memory is essential to achieving maximum speed and performance from your computer. It is recommended that you purchase your new computer with as much memory as you can get for the best price.

Memory upgrades can cost as little as $30, so if you need to build your system slowly over time it is certainly a viable option. You can always add more memory, but you can't replace the CPU and increase your processing speed. If you have to choose between the two, go with a higher GHz processor and add more memory as you can.

The monitor can make a big difference in your enjoyment of your new computer. Although most people just accept whatever monitor comes with a computer package. However, it really does deserve more consideration.

Size is the most important factor. If you go any smaller than 17 inches, you may end up spending most of your time squinting and causing yourself unnecessary eyestrain. If you can upgrade your monitor to something larger, go for at least a 19-inch monitor.

Another option you may want to consider is getting a wireless mouse and keyboard. Going wireless with these necessary pieces of equipment will help to pare down the cords beneath your computer desk.

There are a ton of other options you need to consider when purchasing a new computer. It's a good idea to ask people you know what types of options have worked well for them. Also, you do not need to purchase the very latest in computers. The best value is usually found with a computer that was brand new and the fastest thing going 6 months to one year ago. That is where you are likely to get the most bang for the buck. I hope this little guide has been helpful to you for buying your next computer.

The Truth About Computer Rental

Computer rental is sometimes necessary for people with serious business or personal obligations. When you are on to an important project, responsible for speaking at a business meeting, or perhaps making a presentation, you may suddenly need computer equipment that you do not normally have.

There are many ways to obtain a computer if you need one, and one of the most common ways to do so without having to fork out cash in full is to try a computer rental. Acquiring a computer this way has a lot of benefits, that you might be unaware of, so check out why it is a good idea to use a computer rental, even if it?s not your first time owning one.

Many places online as well as stores in your local hometown area have the option for computer rental. In fact you can also rent other utilities for your house, apartment or dorm pretty much like furniture or even household appliances like a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. The advantages for doing this are numerous, and most people are surprised to learn that computer rental is so commonly adopted by many. In fact, you should scout and shop around for the best deals each store has to offer, given the competitive market.

Almost all stores have incentives to use their electronics rental service. One of the best is that if you?ve got a few credit problems, or if you?re trying to establish credit, then this is ideal. There are no credit checks, and you don?t even have to put up collateral to obtain it. All you need is a couple of personal references, and you must be currently employed in order to qualify for a computer rental. 90 days same as cash is an option. Interest is not added because payments are not required; all you?ll be paying for is the tax on your purchase.

The payment period is usually pretty flexible. Stores will work out a set payment plan that is ideal for you. Monthly, weekly, or even every other week is a viable payback time period. Hidden fees are not included because they?re typically figured into the payment plan.

Another benefit is that you will get the computer the day you order it. Also, stores today don?t carry off the wall brands that don?t work half the time, if at all. All reputable stores offer a guaranteed satisfaction, or you?ll get your money back on the payments for the computer rental you?ve made. Make sure to look at how long the offer is for your particular purchase.

The key benefit of getting a home or office computer this manner is that you can always give a go at the policy of trying it before you decide to buy it. With a computer rental you can choose a particular model, try it out for a while, and if you think it's for you, you can always purchase it. It is definitely a better option compared to buying one outright, and then finding out that it?s not what you really need or want. A computer rental is a win-win option, whatever way you look at it.
